Submitted by Shaun. The Story of the car as wtitten by Shaun " I am sending you a few pics of my car. It is still under construction, but all the hard stuff is done. I am just waiting to put the engine back together. I am using a 90 model 4.3 that is a factory roller motor. I used an aluminum motor plate to mount the engine. I am using keith black hyper pistons and the heads will be fully ported. Right now I just have the stock because they are around 250.00 for an aftermarket cam. I may have mine reground, I saw aplace here in town that does it for about 100.00. I used the tubular manifolds from and astro van and modified them to fit. I trying not to cut the car up very much. I replaced the rear end with one from an s10 p/u with 3.73 gears and a posi. I then took front leaf spring from a 4x4 chevy truck and mounted then to the rear to make a leaf spring setup. Next I added traction bars to the rear. This was the hardest part of the conversion. I also welded in subframe connectors. Right now it has 15x8 ralley wheels on the back, but I going to put 15x10's if I can find some with enough backspacing. I cut out the rear inner fender wells and it will basically be mini-tubbed. I have a 10 gallon fuel cell to mount in the trunk. I cut out the recessed area on the trunk floor and made it flat using a piece of sheet metal. ANyway I hope to finish it this winter and start having some fun. Shaun"
